Avoid Lofty Claims

Throughout my career, I have spent a great deal of time teaching folks how to use essential oils safely and effectively, while avoiding the lofty therapeutic claims that many people purport.

Back in the early 90's I undertook training to become a Certified Aromatherapist, however, I prefer to call myself an 'Aromachologist' and 'Botanical Perfume Artist' because I believe there is more merit in the psychological benefits of scent (rather than the physiological) and that the use of natural aromatics work in tandem with adopting healthy lifestyle choices, especially when it comes to scenting our homes and bodies.

In 1995 I was the founder of the first 'Aroma Bar' in Canada within my two health food stores known as the The Natural Nut Health Shop, located in Orono and Bowmanville Ontario.

I have formulated close to 10,000 unique recipes using essential oils, absolutes, resulting in the ability to recall the way in which an aroma resides in my memory and the outcome of a mixture when multiple scents are blended. It has become an automatic process, intuitive you could say.

A majority of these concoctions have been created for individual patrons at my 'Aroma Bar' while others were created under private label for other businesses.  Many of my clients are familiar with my own brands under the labels; Natural Sense Aromatherapy, Bespoke Aromatics, Prima Essence and Aroma Mixology.
